I purchased a pair of elef 3W LED brake bulbs with a front reflector type. I then tried it on my 08 Honda Civic.
When I ordered them, I knew that the bulb's size was bigger than mine. I tested out the elef LED bulbs before I made any permanent modifications to my car.
The very first thing I noticed was that it was a lot brighter than any other LED bulbs I have tried. It is also brighter than regular filament bulbs.
Also, the elef bulbs don't heat up and the front reflector, on the bulb, seems to shoot the light side ways and backward evenly.
I decided that it was worth trying the elef LEDs. I expanded the insertion holes by grinding it a bit to fit the larger bulb.
The work had paid off. The first thing I noticed after installation was an room-filling,intensely, bright red light.
I took some pics of the LEDs and on the left and right are the elef LEDs while the top-mount brake lamp is a filament.
Anyway, I highly recommend trying the elef LED bulbs. I will soon be trying the elef LEDs for my turn signal.
You can optimize the brightness of the lamp box adjusting the focal point.
Let's keep burning up~!
